Atlanta Biotech Jobs Could Increase
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009One company could be creating hundreds of Atlanta biotech jobs.
Dendreon Corp., which is based in Seattle, is considering an $80 million advanced manufacturing plant to be located on the south side of Atlanta. If created, the plant would create at least 300 jobs in the Atlanta area. Not only would the company’s presence in Atlanta create jobs, it also would increase the tax base.
A reputable biotech manufacturing plant also would improve the area’s reputation as a hot spot for science and medicine, according to an article by the Pudget Sound Business Journal. On top of that, it would help attract scientists and doctors to the area to help spur collaboration with local research universities. (more…)
